Oddies entertained bogey side Hylton Colliery in the second round of
the Hylton Charity cup. Oddies started the brightest and took the lead
on 25 minutes when a Andy Donnelly free kick evaded everyone and
bounced into the top corner. 1-0. Hylton looked very dangerous on the
counter but could not find the equaliser. Oddies had the better chances
of the half but the score remained the same.

Hylton were the better side in the second half as Oddies looked happy
to defend their lead Hylton never really had any clear cut chances as
Oddies restricted them to half chances. With Hylton comitting loads of
bodies forward Oddies countered and won a penalty when a left wing
cross struck a hand of a Hylton defender. Kev Morton had the chance to
kill the game off for Oddies but his penalty was superbly saved. With
that let off for Hylton they literally went down the other end and crossed
the ball only for it to hit Dave Redmans knee come back off the post
then hit his shin then into the bottom corner to give Hylton a fortunate

Oddies started much the better side in extra time and found themselves
ahead when a Stevie Allan freekick found Darren Liddle and his right
footed half volley found its way into the bottom corner. 2-1. Oddies
quickly grabbed a a third when great work down the right from
Middleton and Rowntree seen the ball get laid off to the edge of the box
to find Darren Liddle whose first time shot found the top corner.

With Hylton looking a bit deflated Oddies easily held out for the win and
will now play Aquatic Sports in the Semi Final with Hall Farm awaiting
the winners. Well done to Hylton Colliery and good luck to them for the
season. Oddies Travel to Whitburn Village on Saturday in the league.
