Park View started the game with their strongest side all season. Rob Woodward in goal, L MIddlemiss, S Knox, S Saville and P Briggs at the back, R Baker, G Todd, R Russell and D Lilwall in the middle and S Peacock and A Yip up top.

The game started with a cove kick off which was pinched by Yip who beat the back line slotting it accross the box for Peacock to slot home. View were 1 up after 15 seconds. (when was the last time that happened?) the second goal was scored moments later  with another short range  shot from Todd. The cove got one back with some sloppy defending by View which coolly dispatched from 18 yards. View went another goal up with a great bit of play by an unstoppable A Yip played R Baker in who buried the shot from 10 yards. The 4th goal came straight from the corner flag with D lilwall playing the cross straight in  to the far top corner. Cove pulled another goal back with some terrible passing play on the left by View which was pounced upon by the Cove and rolled over the keeper. This gave view another push which saw another two goals coming from Todd and Yip to see the half out.

Half time Park View 6 The Cove 2

The second half saw Park view relax a little and started playing some more confident football which mainly led to shots being fired over the bar. The cove defended a lot better in the second period  but this reduced the amount of attacks on the view goal. The cove did hit the post in the second half but this seemed to be their only surge of the half. The game was put to bed with another goal from Lilwall and a final goal from Peacock. A 9th goal was disallowed for offside denying Lilwall a deserved hatrick.

This game was by no means as one sided as the scoreline indicates, the cove did play some good attacking football but were seen out by some rare but superbly organised defending from the back four. An improved Cove side, in my opinion, would benefit from a strong command in their side and a little organisation would see them come back next season a better team. Park View need to use this momentum and take it into next week to pick up some more points before the seasons out.
